UPDATED AGAIN: Approximately 423 Drawings of Martin Short

NOTE: This post has been previously published as “132 Drawings of Martin Short” and “291 Drawings of Martin Short.” It has been updated to include more drawings of Martin Short.

You might be asking, “Rachel, why did you make 132 291 423?? drawings of Martin Short?” Okay, first off, it wasn’t some kind of mission or anything. These are mostly from my sketchbook where I draw all kinds of things: raccoons, bodegas, donuts, airport people, mopey birds, all of that. It just happens that Martin Short is very fun to draw.

Next, you might be asking “But why did you put these in your PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO?” Hey if you loved drawing something so much you did it 132 291 423 times, wouldn’t it be a total dream to get hired for it? Yes. Yes it would. So if you are an art director looking for someone to draw you a very lively pencil or pen drawing of Martin Short, you have come to the right place.

Apparently, in order to get Google to put a blog post in its search results, the blog post needs to be at least 500 words long. By my math, each of my drawings of Martin Short is worth a thousand words, and therefore this blog post is 132,000 291,000 423,000 words long. But Google isn’t human, and Google doesn’t understand life or art or any of that. So I find myself trying to put into words WHY I like drawing Martin Short so much. I like drawing Martin Short because he makes me laugh. But also because he does everything extra. When you get to draw all of those little everythings extras; you get to notice them so much more.

Please click the arrows to advance through the slideshows below. Huge apologies that these are not in any kind of logical order. 🙂

Seriously though, thanks for looking at my drawings. Making these fills me with joy over and over again, and I hope some part of them makes you happy too. – Rachel
